FARMINGTON, Pa. – Senior
Václav Tichý fired a final-round 68 (-4) to lead James Madison men's golf to a tie for third at the Nemacolin Invitational on Tuesday afternoon.

Tichý tied for ninth in the deep 100-player field with a three-round score of 211 (-5) on the par-72, 7,526-yard Mystic Rock Golf Course. The native of Prague, Czech Republic carded rounds of two-under 70 and 73 (+1) before his final round 68.

Also tying for ninth was junior
Michael Hake, who recorded rounds of 72-68-71 for his best finish as a Duke. The transfer from Kentucky has now finished inside the top 25 in all three tournaments this season.

As a team, JMU's tie for third among 19 teams marks its third consecutive top-five finish to open the 2025-26 campaign. The Dukes tied their best round of the season versus par on Monday with a 10-under 278 and finished with scores of 279 (-9) and 290 (+2) to finish at 847 (-17) across the 54-hole tournament.

Freshman
Ethan Anderson produced his best finish in a JMU uniform, tying for 15th at 213 (-3). The native of Australia fired a career-low-tying 68 (-4) in Monday's second round, sandwiched between scores of 71 (-1) and 74 (+2).

After scores of 69 (-3) and 70 (-2) in his first two rounds on Monday,
Jonas DeLeon slipped to a tie for 31st with a 54-hole score of 217 (+1) with a final-round 78. Senior
Alex Seibal opened his tournament with a four-under 68, but managed scores of 76 (+4) and 77 (+5) in his final two rounds to tie for 51st with a three-round score of 221 (+5).

Sophomore
René Bergendi competed as an individual at the nearby Shepherd's Rock Individual tournament, hosted at the par-72, 7,515-yard Shepherd's Rock Golf Course. In a field of 30 players, Bergendi tied for fourth with a three-round score of 213 (-3) with rounds of 70-69-74.
