EUGENE, Ore. - James Madison men's golf junior
Ryan Cole battled through the second round on Saturday to move to 8-over par overall at the 2016 Division I Men's Golf National Championships at the Par 70, 7,014-yard Eugene Country Club.
Through two rounds, Cole currently sits tied for 101st out of 156 golfers competing in the final collegiate tournament of the 2015-16 season. Tallying 12 pars on the day, the Mount Airy, Md. native's brightest moment came in the form of a birdie at the 17th hole.
Vanderbilt leads the 30-team field at 3-over par after carding an even 280 on Saturday. Southern California's Justin Suh sits atop the individual leaderboard at 5-under par after shooting a 3-under 68 in the second round.Â
As the fourth-best individual in terms of score entering the third round, Cole will begin the final round of the Championship at 2:12 pm PT or 5:12 pm ET with Texas A&M's Cameron Champ (+10) and UC Riverside's Matt Lutz (+13).
