HARRISONBURG, Virginia – Led by second-year head coach Everett Withers, the James Madison University football program will kick off its 2015 spring drills today, Monday, March 30th, and conclude the workouts with the Spring Game on Saturday, April 25th at 1 p.m. in Bridgeforth Stadium.
The Dukes will conduct 15 practices during that time span, as allowed by the NCAA. The Dukes will be led on the offensive side of the ball by senior All-American quarterback Vad Lee, as Lee and the JMU offense set numerous game and single season passing and offense records in 2014.
The program will also have three special events during the month of spring practices. On Saturday, April 18th, the Dukes will host the annual Student Appreciation Day in Bridgeforth Stadium from 1-2:30 p.m., including various stations and opportunities for students to interact with Withers, the coaching staff and 2015 squad.  On the tail end of Student Appreciation Day will be the "Swag" Flag football tournament hosted by the program. Any female student groups, sororities or female groups of friends can sign up for the free event. This will be a 7-on-7 flag football tournament with coaching from the JMU Football staff and current student athletes. Finally, the football program will hold an alumni golf outing on Sunday, Apr. 26th at 9 a.m. for all former JMU Football players. For more information on all three events, contact John Streicher at streicjr@jmu.edu.
On the Friday prior to the Spring Game, the Duke Club will host its annual Duke Club Golf Outing at Spotswood Country Club.  Sign up for the tournament is available by calling the Duke Club at 540-568-6461 or via e-mail at dukeclub@jmu.edu. The 2015 JMU Football Spring Game is scheduled for Saturday, April 25 at 1 p.m. at Bridgeforth Stadium. Admission is free for the split-squad, full four-quarter football exhibition.
Coming off a 9-4 mark and a berth in the Football Championship Subdivision Playoffs in Withers' first season at the helm, the Dukes open the 2015 season at Bridgeforth Stadium on Saturday, Sept. 5, hosting Morehead State. Season tickets for the 2015 slate are available for purchase now and can be ordered online at JMUSports.com/tickets or by contacting the JMU Ticket Office at 540-568-DUKE (3853). A full stadium reseating is scheduled for this June and will allow season ticket holders to select their seat location based on their Duke Club Priority.
