James Madison volleyball junior outside hitter
Meghan Niski (St. Charles, Ill./St. Charles East) departed from the United States on Tuesday to travel to Europe to compete in the 10th Annual Global Challenge.
Niski is part of the Bring It Promotion (BIP) Midwest Under-22 Team that will spend 12 days competing and touring Croatia, Montenegro and Italy. Her teammates include former teammates with Club Fusion based in Chicago as well as other players she competed against frequently as a club player prior to attending JMU.
Prior to her departure, Niski shared a few thoughts about her impending trip and plans to share additional blog posts via JMUSports.com related to her journey within the next two weeks.
From Meghan Niski:I traveled to Italy, Austria, Germany and the Czech Republic with my club volleyball team the spring before I came to JMU. Traveling, siteseeing and playing overseas is such an amazing experience and I feel so lucky that I am able to do something similar again. Â
Our head coach at JMU, Lauren, just recently came back from her trip to China, glowing about what a great time she had and how excited she is for me to travel soon. I am so grateful that Lauren has let me take this opportunity to represent JMU volleyball in the European Global Challenge.
Playing with some of my old teammates, as well as different girls from different conferences will be beneficial in learning different aspects to play the game. I know that we are all very excited to be selected and have an opportunity to see volleyball and compete on an international level.  BIP Midwest U-22 Team RosterMeghan Niski, James Madison
