As a freshman: JMU Athletic Director Scholar-Athlete... finished his JMU debut season hitting .250 in 19 games... made collegiate debut against #12 Coastal Carolina... collected first JMU hit against Alcorn State... made it a three-game hitting streak with hits against Jacksonville and North Florida... added first RBI and a run scored against UNF... pinch ran and scored a run in Towson opener... first career multiple-hit game with a two-run single and a sac fly at Radford... single and a run scored at Liberty... sacrifice fly in loss in Kennesaw finale.
Before JMU: Played for Tim Lowery and the Cosby High School Titans... two time All Dominion District Utility, Under Armour All-American... senior year All Central Region, All Metro, Virginia High School Coaches Association State All Star game East Team MVP with a two-run homer and a triple in 9-2 victory... High School MVP...junior year American Legion National Tournament All Star... participated in Commonwealth Games... Cosby won 2009 Dominion District Tournament championship and 2008 District title while reaching state quarterfinals... played for American Legion Post 137 team that finished third in nation while winning Mid-Atlantic Region and Virginia state title.
Personal: Son of Janet and Ron Shaban...sport management major with business minor...enjoys football, basketball, lifting, and fishing...Brother Ronnie plays baseball at Virginia Tech.
