CORAL SPRINGS, Fla., July 20, 2009 -- Rising junior women's golfer Kelly Lynch (Severna Park, Md./Severna Park) was named a National Golf Coaches Association All-American for the second year in a row. The Division I, II & III teams were announced with a total of 410 women's collegiate golfers recognized for this prestigious honor.
The NGCA requires at all honorees to have at least a 3.50 GPA and student-athletes must compete in 50 percent (Division I) or 66 percent (Division II & III) of the college's regularly scheduled competitive rounds during the year.
Lynch, a history major, was a second-team All-Colonial Athletic Association selection and was named the team MVP after finishing with a team-low 77.2 stroke average. Lynch was a 2008 NGCA All-American and was honored on the Dean's List in the spring of 2007 and the President's List in the Spring of 2008.
Lynch and the Dukes will open their 2009 fall schedule in East Lansing, Mich. at the Mary Fossum Invitational beginning on Sept. 12-13.
