HARRISONBURG, Va., Nov. 10, 2009 - Several James Madison University football players played host to a local Boy Scout troop on Sunday, treating them to a tour of the JMU equipment and locker rooms before heading outside for a tour of Bridgeforth Stadium.
Equipment manager Pete Johnson guided the scouts through the equipment room, showing them all the behind-the-scenes work that goes into getting the Dukes prepared for each game.
JMU football players Matt Goff (Fairfax, Va./Robinson) and Scott Jones (McLean, Va./Langley) then took the scouts for a look at the team locker room. Goff and Jones modeled some of the team gear for the kids before taking them outside for an opportunity to play on Zane Showker Field.
The scouts concluded the two-hour event by participating in some kicking and throwing drills, playing in a flag football game and trying on the coaches' headsets.
