HARRISONBURG, Va. - James Madison University's Duke Club, the fundraising arm of JMU's Department of Athletics, will be hosting its annual Scholarship Auction on Friday, September 30 at 6:30 p.m. The fourth-annual event, part of the Homecoming week festivities, will be held in the new Club Level of Bridgeforth Stadium.
Traditionally held on Thursday night, this event was moved to Friday to allow more JMU fans who will be attending the Homecoming game against Richmond from all around the country to be able to attend the auction. This is also a great opportunity for people to experience the club area and its amenities. Numerous JMU coaches, athletes and athletic administration will be at the event. Over 200 items will be featured at the event, including exclusive behind-the-scenes opportunities with JMU teams, unique JMU items and apparel, and dozens of products and services donated from local businesses.
Cost for the auction is $65 per couple and $35 for individuals, with Duke Club members receiving a $15 voucher only to be used towards auction during checkout. Reservations can be made online at JMUSports.com/tickets, by phone at 540-568-3853 or by e-mailing Jane Brown at email@example.com. Space is limited so make your reservations early.
One note is that the Duke Club Golf Classic that has usually accompanied the auction has been moved to the spring. It will be held on Friday, April 27, 2012 at Spotswood Country Club. By separating the two events, we hope to maximize participation at both the Scholarship Auction and the Duke Club Golf Classic. Early registration for this event may be done at JMUSports.com/tickets, while those interested in sponsorship opportunities can contact Kyle Yeager at 540-568-6461.
