DUKE CLUB LAUNCHES DUKE DOG PRIDE CAMPAIGN
HARRISONBURG, Va., The Duke Club, the sole fundraising arm of the James Madison University Athletic Department, has launched "Duke Dog Pride" today. The Duke Dog Pride campaign is focused on growing the donor program's membership base with 2,011 new members during the 2011 calendar year.
"This is an ambitious goal," David Biancamano, Assistant Athletic Director of Development, stated. "Our goal of 2,011 new Duke Club members would nearly double the amount of supporters we currently have."
The Duke Club concluded the 2010 calendar year with a membership of just over 2,200.
"If every current Duke Club member got just one person to sign-up, we would eclipse our goal," Biancamano commented.
Duke Dog Pride is founded on four elements that define JMU alumni and fans: pride in who we are, pride in where we've been, pride in where we're going and proud to do my part.
The year-long campaign will focus on building a foundation of donors through mailings, calling programs and signature events. Those interested in volunteering as a donor leader will be eligible to earn rewards and JMU apparel.
"Achieving this goal would not only move us past many of our peer institutions in current donors, but it would be a testament to where we are headed," Biancamano concluded. "Even the minimum Duke Club gift of $50 has tremendous power when multiplied by the masses. That's what Duke Dog Pride is all about."
