HARRISONBURG, Va., Dec. 2, 2013 – Former James Madison men’s soccer standout C.J. Sapong helped make history for Sporting Kansas City as the team will host MLS Cup 2013 for the first time in the organization’s 18 years in Major League Soccer.

Sapong scored in Sporting Kansas City’s 2-1 win over the Houston Dynamo in the Eastern Conference Championship in front of a record crowd of 21,650 at Sporting Park. They will host Real Salt Lake in the championship match Saturday at 4 p.m. The match will be televised nationally on ESPN.
