RICHMOND, Va., Jan. 17, 2012 – James Madison senior diver Nicole Jotso (Suffern, N.Y./Suffern) was named the Colonial Athletic Association Diver of the Week on Tuesday. This is the third time this season Jotso has garnered the honor and the fifth time it’s been claimed by a member of the JMU diving team.

Jotso finished first in the one-meter dive and second on the three-meter board to help the Dukes sweep a four-team meet at Savage Natatorium last Saturday. The senior scored a 309.80 on the three-meter board and a 315.75 on the one-meter to help Madison dominate in dual meet wins over American, Georgetown and Virginia Military Institute.

In addition to Jotso’s three Diver of the Week awards, junior Kimberly Helfrich (Fort Belvoir, Va./West Springfield) has claimed the honor twice.

Towson’s Cari Czarnecki and UNCW’s Carly Tanner shared the CAA’s Swimmer of the Week award.

The Dukes return to the pool this Friday as it host Rutgers for a dual meet at Savage Natatorium, beginning at 2 p.m.
