  • Played summer 2010 with the Bridgewater Reds in the Rockingham County Baseball League before being signed for the playoff push in the Valley League
  • Named Pitcher of the Week June 28 to July 4 at Bridgewater

As a freshman:

  • Closed season with 2 2/3 innings allowing one hit and striking out three in opener vs. Mason
  • Had nine appearances with the Silver Spring-Takoma T-Bolts, including four starts, and went 1-1 with a 4.65 ERA in 31 innings in the Cal Ripken, Sr. Collegiate Baseball League over the summer.

Why did you choose JMU?
The baseball and the academics.

What is your major, and why did you choose it?
Sports management because I want to do something with sports.

What are your hobbies outside of baseball?
Fishing and video games.

Do you have a nickname on the team? How did it come about?
Futter, my last name.

What are your goals for the season and what motivates you to reach them?
To win the conference championship...losing last year was really bitter, and then win a regional to make a super regional.

If you could hang out with one MLB player for a day who would it be and why?
Derek Lowe, he has a very similar pitching style to me.

If you could be on one reality or game show what would it be?
Man vs. wild I love watching it.

What is your favorite memory of JMU baseball thus far?
Beating Coastal Carolina my freshman year because it was my first big time game since I've been here even though I didn't pitch.

What team do you want to beat more than any other?
University of Virginia.

Where is your favorite place to play other then at JMU?
Coastal Carolina.

What is your favorite memory at JMU outside of baseball?
Every good memory I've had on the weekend.

Most- "Bootstrap" Billy Logan.
