RICHMOND, Va. - James Madison University sophomore running back Dae'Quan Scott (Staunton, Va./Robert E. Lee) has been named the Colonial Athletic Association Offensive Player of the Week, the league announced today.
Scott nearly eclipsed a James Madison single-game rushing record in the Dukes' 34-17 win on the road over Massachusetts, helping earn his second CAA Football Offensive Player of the Week honor of the season. The sophomore carried the ball a career-high 30 times gaining a career-best 251 yards in the victory. Scott's mark was the 11th 200-yard rushing game in JMU history and was second only to Warren Marshall's 264-yards on the ground in terms of a single-game rushing record for the Dukes.
The #17 JMU will travel to Eastern Kentucky in the first round of the NCAA Division I Football Championships. The game will be played on Saturday, Nov. 26, with the kickoff set for noon for the nationally-televised broadcast on ESPNU.
