HARRISONBURG, Va. - Former JMU tight end Mike Caussin (Springfield, Va./West Springfield) was signed by the National Football League's Buffalo Bills. Caussin had spent the first 12 weeks of the season on the practice squad of the Jacksonville Jaguars and joins fellow former Duke Arthur Moats in New York. Caussin takes the spot of defensive end Dwan Edwards, who was placed on injured reserve, and was signed to help with tight end Shawn Nelson's situation in battling migraine headaches.
Caussin in 2009 was second on the team in receptions with 25 and receiving yards with 438, and he tied for the team lead with four touchdown catches. He completed his career ranked 18th in receptions (66), tied for 15th in receiving yards (1,009) and tied for fourth in touchdown catches in team history with 14. All-time among JMU tight ends he is first in scoring catches and second in receptions and receiving yards. Caussin was second-team All-Virginia and third-team All-CAA.
Caussin will wear No. 82 for the Bills.
