RICHMOND, Va., Nov. 2, 2010 - James Madison senior Dolores de Rooij (Vlaardingen, The Netherlands/Erasmiaans) was named the Colonial Athletic Association Player of the Week on Tuesday after scoring three goals and an assist last week.
de Rooij finished her JMU career with a career-high seven points in the Dukes' 4-1 victory over Northeastern last Sunday. She recorded her second career hat trick, including the game winning goal, and added an assist to lead JMU to a win on Senior Day.
The seven points moved her into 10th place on the school's all-time points list with 93. She also finished her career tied for eight in goals with 41 and third in game-winning goals with 11.
It was the third time in her career de Rooij has garnered CAA honors, winning Player of the Week once as a junior and Rookie of the Week in 2007. She became the fourth Duke this season to earn the conference's weekly honors, joining senior Amy Daniel (Mountain Top, Pa./Crestwood) as the Player of the Week and freshmen Amy Goldstein (Lititz, Pa./Warwick) and Rachel Wein (Perryville, Md./Perryville) as the Rookie of the Week.
