USA Field Hockey’s High Performance Training Centers identify and train potential National Team athletes through comprehensive training and skill enhancement sessions, as well as premier-level competitions. High Performance Centers allow athletes to train in regional areas close to their homes by some of the country’s top coaches.
Trials are open to enrolled collegiate and post-collegiate athletes. The top athletes will be selected to represent their region at the Women’s National Championship, held annually in late May or early June. Selections are performance based to ensure that the strongest representative team participates at the National Championship.
The High Performance Squads will train until the first week of June, at which point each region selects a tournament team to compete at the High Performance Championships. The tournament will be hosted by the University of Maryland from June 2-9. Further information can be found at the Team USA website.
