WILLIAMSBURG, Va., April 18, 2013 – The Colonial Athletic Association announced Thursday that sophomore Taylor Pinchoff (Sylvan Lake, Mich./West Bloomfield) was selected to the All-CAA First Team for singles play as well as All-CAA First Team for doubles play with senior Michelle Nguyen (Springfield, Va./South County).

Pinchoff is the first James Madison women’s tennis player to earn first team all-conference honors in both singles and doubles competition since the league began naming the teams in 1997.

At No. 1 singles this spring, Pinchoff tallied a 9-8 record with 7 of those wins coming in the final 10 matches of the regular season.  She was the final CAA women’s tennis Player of the Week for 2013 and is riding a three-match win-streak into the conference tournament.

In doubles play, Pinchoff and Nguyen won six straight matches to go 9-1 in their final 10 duals and post a 12-3 overall record for the spring at the No. 1 position.  The pair was named the CAA women’s tennis Doubles Team of the Week twice this season (Feb. 19, April 2).

Senior Katherine Bulling (Loveland, Ohio/Cincinnati Hills Christian Academy) and freshman Cara Wirth (Reading, Pa./Wilson) picked up All-CAA Second Team honors for doubles play.  The duo went 12-5 during the spring primarily at No. 2 doubles (1-0 at No. 1), including 5-2 against league foes.

Bulling also earned All-CAA Third Team recognition for her singles play.  She wrapped up the spring with a 12-4 record, primarily at No. 4 singles (1-0 at No. 3), and tallied a 7-3 record over the final 10 matches.  She was joined on the team by juniors Ruxandra Andriescu (Brampton, Ontario, Canada/Turner Fenton) and Jacqueline Palmucci (Aurora, Colo./Cherokee Trail).

Andriescu completed the season on a three-match win-streak.  She went 4-3 against CAA opponents and notched a record of 8-8 overall, going 7-8 at No. 3 singles.  Palmucci heads into the conference tournament with a 9-7 record after going 8-2 in her final 10 matches of the spring, all at No. 2 singles.

Three-seed JMU takes on six-seed Towson at 9 a.m. Friday, April 19 at the Millie West Tennis Facility on William & Mary’s campus.  The Dukes blanked the Tigers 7-0 at Towson on April 13.
