HARRISONBURG, Va., Feb. 5, 2013 -- James Madison senior Katie Menzie (Chantilly, Va./Chantilly)
has been invited to attend the
2013 Peak Performance Soccer Women's Professional Soccer Combine.
The combine, which will be held in Sunrise, Fla., from Feb. 22-24, was created to give players the chance to showcase their
talents in front of representatives from some of the world's best clubs,
according to the combine's website. Among those in attendance will be coaches from
the Boston Breakers, Washington Spirit, Sky Blue FC, Philadelphia Fever, FC
Indiana, Team Boca, Seacoast United and the Clermont Phoenix.
Players invited to the combine aspire to careers in the National Women's Soccer League, the
Women's Professional Soccer League or abroad.
The combine includes a training session and three games, among other
activities.
Menzie, a three-year
starter in midfield for the Dukes, was named to the All-Colonial Athletic
Association Third Team in 2012.
