TOWSON SCOUTING REPORT
The Tigers are 11-11 overall and 5-4 in CAA action. They started the conference slate 2-0 before a 62-57 loss to JMU at home sparked a stretch of four losses in five games.  Towson, however, has won its last two games at Northeastern (W, 67-62) and against Hofstra (W, 65-63).
In January, Tanisha McTiller led the Tigers against the Dukes with 24 points.  She is averaging a league-high and team-high 23.3 points in CAA games on 42.0-percent shooting with 6.9 rebounds and a team-high 2.4 steals per game.
LaTorri Hines-Allen leads Towson in rebounding (8.0) for the season while Dominique Johnson leads the team in assists (4.09).  Nyree Williams leads the Tigers in blocked shots (1.62).
Towson leads the league in offensive rebounds, averaging 16.9 boards on the offensive glass per game.  Overall, the Tigers hold a +4.4 rebounding margin on opponents, pulling down 40.8 rebounds per game compared to opponents’ 36.5 rebounds per game.

JMU FAST BREAK
The Dukes are winners of eight straight after defeating Northeastern 85-57 at the JMU Convocation Center on Friday night.  They have won six straight by at least 24 points, dating back to the five-point win at Towson on Jan. 16 (W, 62-57).
Against the Huskies, sophomore guard Precious Hall (Tallahassee, Fla./Maclay School) dropped a career-high 26 points.  Senior guard Kirby Burkholder (Bridgewater, Va./Turner Ashby) poured in a game-high 30 points, sending her over the 1,400-point mark for her career (1,405).
Four of the Dukes’ starters are averaging double-figure scoring in league play.  Burkholder (19.8) and Hall (18.8) are followed closely by junior forward Toia Giggetts (Norfolk, Va./Lake Taylor) with 12.4 points per game and redshirt-sophomore guard Jazmon Gwathmey (Bealeton, Va./Liberty H.S.) with 11.4 points per game.
In CAA action, redshirt-senior forward Nikki Newman (Harrisonburg, Va./Turner Ashby) is stuffing the stat sheet: 5.9 points and 6.5 rebounds per game with team highs of 6.8 assists, 2.5 blocks and 2.3 steals per outing.
Through Jan. 6, JMU ranked within the top 10 in three statistical categories: sixth in blocked shots per game (6.0), sixth in field-goal percentage defense (34.5%) and ninth in rebound margin (+10.5).  The Dukes ranked 11th in the nation in scoring margin (+18.0) and three-point field-goal defense (26.2%) as well as 14th in scoring defense (56.4 ppg).
