RICHMOND, Va., March 11, 2013 -- James Madison forward Jazmon Gwathmey (Bealeton, Va./Liberty) was selected the Colonial Athletic Association women's basketball player Rookie of the Week for the week ending March 10.
Gwathmey scored eight points and had six rebounds, two blocked shots, two steals and an assist in the Dukes' 62-53 win at Drexel on March 6. She connected on 60 percent (3-5) of her field-goal attempts in the contest.JMU clinched the number two seed in the upcoming CAA Tournament with the win on the Dragons' home court. The Dukes take a 21-9 record into a March 15 CAA quarterfinal game vs. Towson at The Show Place Arena in Upper Marlboro, Md.
