SCOUTING TOWSON
The Tigers finished the regular season with a 12-17 record overall and a 6-12 record against league opponents.  They have won their last three games and four of their last five, with the only loss coming at JMU (79-45) on Feb. 21.
Junior guard Tanisha McTiller, who leads the CAA in minutes played (36.7) and was named to the All-CAA Second Team, is the top scorer for the Tigers with 18.5 points per game.  She also leads the team in steals (2.3), fifth in the league, and assists (2.8).  The junior is second on the team in rebounds (7.5), just behind redshirt junior forward Nyree Williams who averages 7.6 boards per game.  The forward leads Towson in blocks (1.6), the third-most in the CAA, and has the most foul-outs (5) this season.
A member of the All-CAA Rookie team, freshman guard Dominique Johnson is averaging 9.2 points and 3.4 assists per game.  She also is spending 35.1 minutes of each game on the court, the second-most on the team.  Senior forward Michelle Peebles is second in the Tigers line-up for points (9.4) off of 47.2 percent shooting and second in blocks (0.8).
Towson is averaging 57.0 points per game compared to 63.8 points scored by opponents.  The Tigers are cleaning the glass, however, and pulling down 37.1 boards per game with a 37.8 percent offensive rebounding percentage, third in the CAA.

JMU FAST BREAK
The Dukes finished the regular season with a 21-9 overall record and went 15-3 in conference play.  They won 18 of their last 21 games, including the final three and six of the last seven.
Senior guard Tarik Hislop, All-CAA First Team honoree, is leading JMU in points scored (16.6), assists (3.4) and minutes (35.5).  She also has the second-best league assist-to-turnover ratio at 1.7.
Junior guard Kirby Burkholder, a fellow All-CAA First Team honoree, leads the Dukes in rebounds (8.9), steals (1.7), 3-point field goal percentage (.353) and free-throw percentage (.902), which is second-best in the CAA.
When facing CAA opponents, freshman guard Precious Hall, CAA Rookie of the Year, is posting 12.4 points per game off of 34.5 percent shooting from the field.  She has also made 30.4 percent of her 3-point attempts against league foes and sunk 85.7 percent of her free throws.
Over the last six games, redshirt freshman forward Jazmon Gwathmey, All-CAA Rookie team member,  averaged 10.5 points and 7.5 rebounds per game.  In the two previous meetings between JMU and Towson, she averaged 12.0 points off of 84.6 percent shooting from the field and went a perfect 8-8 from the field on Feb. 21.  She also pulled in 7.0 rebounds per game.
The Dukes have the best rebounding offense in the conference, pulling down 42.8 rebounds per game.  They also are tied for the best rebounding margin in the league (+6.5) as opponents are pulling down just 36.3 boards per game.
