HARRISONBURG, Va., Nov. 4, 2013 – The pairings are set for the 2013 Colonial Athletic Association Women’s Soccer Championship, to be held at James Madison’s University Park this weekend. All games will be streamed live for free in high definition on CAA.TV.
The host Dukes (14-4-1, 6-1-1 CAA) earned the top seed and a bye in the quarterfinals after winning the conference regular-season title outright for the first time in program history. They will play fourth-seeded Hofstra (10-5-3, 3-2-3) in the semifinals Friday at 6 p.m. The Pride made their way to the semifinals with a 2-0 win over fifth-seeded UNCW.
The other semifinal game will be played at 3 p.m. and features second-seeded William & Mary (8-2-6, 5-1-2) against third-seeded Northeastern (5-8-5, 5-2-1). The Tribe earned a bye in the quarterfinals, while the Huskies advanced with a win over Delaware via penalty kicks following a scoreless regulation and multiple overtime periods.
Both semifinal matchups are rematches from the final day of the regular season. Based on those results the tournament should be highly competitive. James Madison and Hofstra tied 2-2 at Hofstra, while William & Mary and Northeastern tied 0-0 at Northeastern.
The championship game will be played Sunday at 1 p.m. The winner receives an automatic bid to the 64-team NCAA Championships.
