HARRISONBURG, Va., Dec. 3, 2010 -- James Madison women's soccer player Teresa Rynier (Leola, Pa./Conestoga Valley) has earned All-America recognition, and she and two teammates have won All-Mid-Atlantic Region honors.

Rynier, a senior midfielder, was named to the 2010 NSCAA/Performance Subaru NCAA Division I All-America Team, the National Soccer Coaches Association of America announced Friday.

Rynier, redshirt senior goalkeeper Diane Wszalek (West Chester, Pa./West Chester East) and senior forward Cate Tisinger (Clifton, Va./Centreville) were selected to the NSCAA/Performance Subaru All-Mid-Atlantic Region Team.

Rynier, who was named to the All-America Third Team, is only the sixth women's soccer athlete in school history to win the prestigious honor.  She joins former Dukes' players Cathy Reid (Second Team 1991), Jen Cuesta (Third Team 1996), Annie Lowry (Second Team 2007), Kim Germain (Third Team 2007) and Corky Julien (Third Team 2008) as All-America honorees.

Rynier was selected to the All-Region First Team and received All-Region recognition for the first time.  She set school and Colonial Athletic Association records for career assists with 53 and completed her career tied fourth on JMU's all-time points list (93) and 13th on the goals list (20).

Wszalek, who also won All-Region recognition for the first time, set JMU career records for goals-against average (1.128), solo shutouts (24) and total shutouts (30) and tied the school season shutout record (8).  She played every minute of the team's 23 games in 2010.

Tisinger, who won All-Region Second Team honors as a freshman in 2007, was named to the 2010 Third Team. She finished her JMU career ranked sixth on JMU's career assist list (24), tied eighth on the points list (74) and 11th on the goals list (25).

The All-America players will be honored at the annual All-America Luncheon, to be held at the Hilton Baltimore Hotel on Saturday, Jan. 15, as part of the 2011 NSCAA Convention.
