Freshman Lauren Wilson
Q: Talk about your NCAA experience...
A: "It was a good experience and a lot of memories I will be able to keep throughout college because you don't know if you will get that chance again."

Q: What does it mean to you to win a CAA title, beat Texas and play a tough match against UNC in your first season at JMU?
A: "It's been a lot of fun. We put a lot of hard work into practice and we were just creating memories that we are going to remember. Taking the seniors and them going out with huge wins was a lot of fun."

Q: What was your favorite part about the trip to UNC?
A: "Probably being in the game with Chapel Hill. A lot of people doubted us, but we gave them a run for their money and that was good."

Freshman Sam Lofton
Q: Talk about your NCAA experience...
A: "It was a great experience. It was kind of crazy my first one happened to be at Chapel Hill against one of the biggest sports dynasties ever, but it was a great time and I'm really glad I got to be a part of it."

Q: What does it mean to you to win a CAA title, beat Texas and play a tough match against UNC in your first season at JMU?
A: "I think at times we were nervous or seemed to be labeled the underdog and that's always a fun time for everyone to doubt you and you come out with a win. It was really good and it showed everyone that we can play at that next level."

Q: What was your favorite part about the trip to UNC?
A: "Probably playing UNC because obviously every little girl's soccer dream is to play at UNC and play against them. It was a great opportunity and even scoring a goal on them was just awesome."

Freshman
Becky Sparks
Q: Talk about your NCAA experience...
A: "Beginning of the season we struggled a little bit, but after we won the CAA Championship, we put ourselves in a good position and drew Texas. We all knew that we could do it and we came out strong and positive and got the result we wanted. We saw UNC and everyone doubted us, but we all knew if we fought hard, we'd give them a good game. We came out 1-1 and we fought until the end."

Q: What does it mean to you to win a CAA title in your first season and advance to the NCAA Tournament?
A: "Going up to Hofstra, we had a good mindset because we all knew if we played together, we'd be able to do it. We knew it wasn't going to be easy because Hofstra having the record they had, it was going to be hard. We wanted to come out and prove ourselves because we played them early in the season and lost 1-0 on a late free kick, but we knew if we came out and showed them what we could do we'd be able to win."

Q: What was your favorite part about the trip to UNC?
A: "Probably being able to play UNC. It's definitely an experience every player dreams of doing. It's definitely a great experience."

Freshman Kate Courter
Q: Talk about your NCAA experience...
A: "As a freshman, it was an awesome experience to be able to be here, but not only to be able to be here and play against the best, but to compete with them and give them a run for their money."

Q: What does it mean to you to win a CAA title, beat Texas and play a tough match against UNC in your first season at JMU?
A: "Going into it, I thought it was something that was possible, but when it's actually achieved, it's an awesome feeling. We're an awesome team and it took team work and it was a lot of hard work that paid off, so it was nice to see and a great experience."

Q: What was your favorite part about the trip to UNC?
A: "Being able to cheer everyone on for every minute of the game and knowing I had a supporting role in our accomplishments."

Sophomore
Katie Menzie
Q: Talk about your NCAA experience...
A: "I thought it was awesome. I had a really good time. I've never been here before , so it was definitely a once in a lifetime experience, but hopefully it's more than once in a lifetime, because I want to go there for the next two years of my career.

Q: What does it mean to you to win a CAA title, beat Texas and play a tough match against UNC?
A: "I was really proud of our team. We've been playing really well for the past couple weeks, finally found our rhythm and I think we definitely put it all together against Texas and we had a great game. We played really well today [against UNC] for 45 minutes, then they brought their 'A' game the second half and it didn't go our way, but it was still a great experience. I had a lot of fun."

Q: What was your favorite part about the trip to UNC?
A: "The feeling at the end of the Texas game because we came in pretty much the underdog, so it was nice knowing that we played a team that might have been looking past us  and we put a beat down on them. It was awesome."

Redshirt Sophomore Dana O'Brien
Q: Talk about your NCAA experience...
A: "I think it was really awesome we got to play two really well-known schools. With UNC, I think it's a dream everyone has to play them and we're given the chance to compete with them. It was cool to play Texas because they are known to be a better school. It was a great experience because people underestimate us so much, so we were able to prove we are able to compete with better teams and the best teams."

Q: What does it mean to you to win a CAA title, beat Texas and play a tough match against UNC?
A: "It's great to be a part of a team that loves to win. It is just all-around great soccer players and people who just love being together."

Q: What was your favorite part about the trip to UNC?
A: "Definitely dancing in the hotel and playing the teams [Texas and UNC]. It's fun to hang out with our teammates and just be weird as you have seen from the footage."

Sophomore
Amalya Clayton
Q: Talk about your NCAA experience...
A: "For being my first NCAA Tournament, I really enjoyed it because we showed teams we can compete on the national level, especially with beating Texas and having a good run at UNC. It was a great experience and I hope to do it again next year. We will do it again next year actually."

Q: What does it mean to you to win a CAA title, beat Texas and play a tough match against UNC?
A: "Playing Texas was awesome because I'm pretty sure they were overlooking us and for us to go in and just get it done and beat them was just awesome. We knew we had a really tough game with UNC because they're a really good team, but we went out there and did our best and gave them a scare at the beginning."

Q: What was your favorite part about the trip to UNC?
A: "Several things. Some of the games we played on the bus, that's always fun and chilling with the team. Beating Texas was awesome. Setting up the goal for UNC was a really great feeling watching Lauren [Wilson] finishing that, I was really happy about that and all the good food we get to eat is pretty awesome."

Redshirt Freshman Theresa Naquin
Q: Talk about your NCAA experience...
A: "It was a great experience overall. It's something that you don't know if you're going to get again and I just enjoyed every part of it."

Q: What does it mean to you to win a CAA title, beat Texas and play a tough match against UNC?
A: "It's an honor to be on this team. Everyone worked so hard and tried to represent JMU. It's just a good feeling."

Q: What was your favorite part about the trip to UNC?
A: "The best part of the trip was just celebrating with my team. Being there with everyone and supporting everyone was great."

Redshirt Sophomore
Natalie Heintz
Q: Talk about your NCAA experience...
A: "Our team played really well, we came together and it showed on the field that we have a lot of team chemistry and we had fun, and that was the biggest thing. It was a really fun trip overall and I'm really proud of our team and we had a really good season."

Q: What does it mean to you to win a CAA title, beat Texas and play a tough match against UNC?
A: "It shows that our team is right on the verge of being one of those big-time teams, just like them. We can beat teams like that, so it was really exciting to play people at that level and it showed us we are capable of that."

Q: What was your favorite part about the trip to UNC?
A: "Obviously the win against Texas was awesome, but I think all the down time and hanging out with the girls goofing off and making videos, listening to music, singing and dancing was probably the best part about the whole thing."

Redshirt Sophomore
Kelly Germain
Q: Talk about your NCAA experience...
A: "It was a great experience. We had a great run. A lot of people kept saying we were the underdogs and we proved we really weren't  and we expected to be here. We're never given the rankings we deserve, but that doesn't stop us from doing the things we can do and we really came out and had a great time and showed the people who we really are."

Q: What does it mean to you to win a CAA title, beat Texas and play a tough match against UNC?
A: "Winning a CAA Championship is everyone's dream, so it's about time we brought it back to JMU. We've been working really hard the past few years and this year we worked really hard and came together as a team and winning the CAA Championship was great. Then playing against Texas and UNC, those were great games and we really showed we've done so well this season as a team."

Q: What was your favorite part about the trip to UNC?
A: "Being together with the team is always fun and being able to play UNC was amazing. They're a great team and just being at their field and beating Texas was a great thing."

Junior
Yolie Anderson-Golhor
Q: Talk about your NCAA experience...
A: "It was a good experience all-in-all. It was my second one. Freshman year, we went to the tournament as well. I would've liked for it to go further but we lost, but it was a really good experience."

Q: What does it mean to you to win a CAA title, beat Texas and play a tough match against UNC?
A: "It means a lot. JMU on the map is just this little school that not many people know of and for us to be put in a spot like that and take down a big name and make it look easy is something to be proud of because we're not seen as always being good, but it makes it so people respect us more for what we can do, especially when we get to the tournaments."

Q: What was your favorite part about the trip to UNC?
A: "Team bonding. This trip really hit me how close our team is. Compared to the beginning of the season until now, our team has grown so much tighter and closer and there's an all-around respect for one another."

Sophomore
Elisa Davidson
Q: Talk about your NCAA experience...
A: "I loved it. I loved every minute of it. The fact that they paid for a lot of our stuff, hanging out with my team, hanging out with you [SID], I think everything was just awesome."

Q: What does it mean to you to win a CAA title, beat Texas and play a tough match against UNC?
A: "Being a CAA champion, this is our first time in eight years since 2002, which is awesome. It's so great for our team. Beating a ranked team in Hofstra, they were 17th and we shut them out and they were on a 17-game winning streak, I think that was amazing. Rushing the field afterwards was such a great feeling. Beating Texas, when the NCAA thought we were the underdog was great, because I thought it was an easy win. They weren't as good [as us], but then again, competing with UNC was great. In the soccer world, UNC is one of the best schools, so that was awesome for us. From the CAA Championship to this NCAA run was such a great journey."

Q: What was your favorite part about the trip to UNC?
A: "Spending this last weekend with the seniors. I think they are a great group of girls, all four of them with Diane being s 'super senior,' but all have accomplished a lot throughout their four or five years of being here and just experiencing that with them and being a part of it was awesome."

Redshirt Sophomore Megan Fessler
Q: Talk about your NCAA experience...
A: "It was very exciting being able to be in it and experience it."

Q: What does it mean to you to win a CAA title, beat Texas and play a tough match against UNC?
A: "It goes to show that even with teams in big conferences we can compete with them. [UNC] was scared at halftime because it was 1-1, it just lets the country know we can compete with anyone."

Q: What was your favorite part about the trip to UNC?
A: "Beating Texas was huge. That feeling after the game knowing that we were going to be playing UNC was just a rush."

Junior
Ariana Ruela
Q: Talk about your NCAA experience...
A: "It's been a great experience. My freshman year we made it to the Sweet 16, so it was awesome to get back into the NCAA this year. Unfortunately we didn't get to the Sweet 16, but we got to play UNC, one of the best teams in women's soccer, so that was a good experience within itself."

Q: What does it mean to you to win a CAA title, beat Texas and play a tough match against UNC?
A: "Being part of this team has been awesome. We have a great group of seniors who have set the standard for this team and what is expected of everyone. Winning the CAA title and bringing it back to JMU is awesome. Now it means next year, we have to do it again and we're going to win another one. As far as beating Texas, we like coming in as the underdogs, but we know with our capacity and our technical ability and what we bring as a team that we could beat them as long as everyone was there 100-percent believing in each other."

Q: What was your favorite part about the trip to UNC?
A: "My personal favorite would be experiencing team chemistry which has developed over the season. I believe the girls are so much closer, from pre-season to now, we're just one big family and it's great to be around."

Team Athletic Trainer Lisa Friesen
Q: Talk about your experience at the NCAA Tournament with the women's soccer team...
A: "It was a great weekend for us. The girls played great in both games and I had a lot of fun. You can tell they enjoyed playing and enjoyed being together.

Q: What was your favorite part about the trip to UNC?
A: "I don't think I have a favorite moment of the weekend, it was all a lot of fun."
