Prevailing in OT:  JMU's Oct. 18 2-1 overtime victory over Delaware marked the second straight home overtime win for the Dukes.  The Dukes beat George Mason 1-0 in double overtime in their previous home game on Oct. 4.

Lots of Close Games:  Ten of JMU's 18 games were decided by a single goal.  JMU's record in one-goal games was 4-6 overall.  However, the Dukes had a 3-1 record in the team's last four one-goal games of the season.

CAA Standings:  The Dukes finished in seventh place in the CAA standings, and only the top six teams qualify for the six-team CAA Tournament.   It marks only the second time since 2002 that JMU has failed to advance to the CAA Tournament.  (Prior to 2002 every eligible league team participated in the tournament, but qualification has been limited to four or six teams since then.)
Hofstra leads CAA teams in tournament qualifications, as the Pride this season has qualified for its 10th CAA Tournament in the last 11 seasons.  JMU and William and Mary, with nine tournament-qualifying seasons, rank tied for second.  No other CAA team has qualified more than seven times.

Four Opponents Projected for NCAA Field:  Four JMU opponents are projected to be among the 64 teams in the 2012 NCAA Tournament field, according to the website TopDrawerSoccer.com.  The weekly rankings are a running attempt to project the postseason NCAA Tournament qualifiers, including every automatic conference berth.
