Sophomore forward Lauren Wilson (Coatesville, Pa./Downingtown) received the team's most valuable offensive player award. Wilson was the Dukes' leader in goals (8) and points (22), and she shared the team lead in assists (6). She was named to the All-Colonial Athletic Association Second Team last fall.
Junior defender Elisa Davidson (Alexandria, Va./Hayfield) and sophomore defender Becky Sparks (Laurel Springs, N.J./Paul VI) were co-recipients of the team's most valuable defensive player award. The pair anchored a JMU defense that recorded seven shutouts and limited its opponents to an average of 1.26 goals. Sparks, a 2011 All-CAA Second Team selection, also tied for the team lead in assists (6).
Freshman defender Shannon Rano (Branchburg, N.J./Immaculata) won the team's Rookie of the Year award. Rano, who was also named to the CAA All-Rookie Team last fall, started 11 games in 2011.
The JMU Coaches' Award was presented to redshirt senior midfielder Jessica Barndt (Novi, Mich./Novi) and junior forward Amalya Clayton (Springfield, Va./West Springfield).
Barndt also received the team's Strength and Conditioning Award.
