RICHMOND, Va., Feb. 11, 2014 – James Madison freshman diver Olivia Lehman (Dayton, Ohio/Centreville) is the Colonial Athletic Association Diver of the Week as announced by the league on Tuesday. This is the first conference honor won by Lehman.
Lehman placed first out of 19 divers on the one-meter board in last weekend’s Clemson Diving Invitational. She scored a career-best 293.50 in the event which is good for the sixth-best score in program history on the one-meter. It also qualified the rookie diver for the NCAA Zone Diving Meet, making her the fourth Duke to qualify this season.
On the three-meter board, Lehman placed 13th with a score of 234.85.
This is the fifth time this season a JMU diver has claimed the weekly conference accolade after redshirt freshman Taryn McLaughlin (Hudson, Ohio/Hudson) won it five times previously.
Northeastern’s Sophie Browne is the CAA’s Swimmer of the Week.
The Dukes travel to Charlottesville, Va., this weekend for one last tune-up ahead of the CAA Championships. They’ll compete in the Cavalier Invitational at the UVA Aquatic and Fitness Center on Friday and Saturday.
