HARRISONBURG, Va. – James Madison University has signed 14 student-athletes to National Letters of Intent to play football for the Dukes next fall, Head Coach Everett Withers announced Feb. 5. There were several key comments by Withers as part of his press conference in the Plecker Athletic Performance Center.

"First of all, I would like to thank the JMU Nation obviously for helping us in the recruiting process of these 14 young men that will join us in the 2014 season," Withers commented. "We are excited about having those guys be a part of our program. We think they are great fits to the University culture here, to the University atmosphere, to the community and to our football program."

"You go find good football players," Withers said when asked about his class. "No matter what the (recruiting site) stars are, you find good football players. I don’t know who on our signing class has stars. I have no idea. I don’t really care. I really don’t. I just want to find good football players."

The class includes two players (Vad Lee and Rob Nittolo) that are already attending JMU and will be a part of spring practices. Of the signees, Madison remained strong through the region, signing six out of Virginia, three from North Carolina and South Carolina, and one each from Florida and New Jersey.
