James Madison men's basketball hosts Philadelphia University on Sunday afternoon at 2 p.m. at the JMU Convocation Center. The contest will be the only exhibition game the team participates in before regular season play begins on November 15th. The game is open to the public with free admission and parking.

The Dukes will face Philadelphia for the fifth year in a row in Harrisonburg. JMU has landed in the win column in each of the past four meetings with the Rams, winning 74-65 in 2008, 91-71 in 2009, 67-51 in 2010 and 98-88 in 2011.

JMU is coming off a 12-20 season under fifth-year head coach Matt Brady and is picked to finish sixth in the Colonial Athletic Association. The Dukes return three starters this season, led by redshirt senior guards A.J. Davis and Devon Moore, who averaged 15.9 and 8.8 points per game, respectively, one year ago.

JMU also returns redshirt senior forwards Andrey Semenov and Rayshawn Goins. Semenov averaged 10.2 points per game last year and led the team in three-point percentage, shooting 44% from beyond the arc. Goins missed all of last year due to injury after averaging 9.7 points per game and 6.8 rebounds per game during the 2010-2011 season.

The Dukes feature a five-man crop of newcomers, which includes guards Ron Curry, Andre Nation and Charles Cooke along with interior players Taylor Bessick and Dimitrije Cabarkapa.

Philadelphia finished its 2011-2012 season with a record of 19-10. The Rams were led by Jimmy Connolly and Nick Schlitzer, averaging 16.8 and 14.0 points per game, respectively. Head Coach Herb Magee is entering his 46th season with Philadelphia. He was inducted into the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame in August of 2011 as the all-time, all-division NCAA wins leader with 922 career wins, which has since increased to 941

The Dukes will officially begin the 2012-2013 season on Thursday, November 15th at 11 p.m. (Eastern) when they travel to Los Angeles, California to take on UCLA in the Progressive Legends Classic.

NOTE: All 2012-13 home games will have free HD streaming video on MadiZONE.  However, the exhibition game will be an audio-only presentation.
