WILMINGTON, N.C., Nov. 7, 2010 - Sophomores Natalie Abel (Washington, Pa./Trinity) and Danielle Erb (Tampa, Fla./Plant) combined for 38 kills and 26 digs to lead James Madison volleyball past UNC Wilmington, 3-1, at Hanover Hall in Wilmington, N.C. on Sunday afternoon.

The Dukes won by set scores of 22-25, 25-18, 28-26 and 25-19 to improve to 20-7 overall and 8-4 in the Colonial Athletic Association.  It was the first time JMU has reached 20 wins since finishing 21-10 in 2002.  UNCW dropped to 7-21 and 1-11 in league play.

Abel finished with 21 kills, two shy of her career-high, on .304 hitting and 11 digs while Erb contributed 17 kills and 15 digs.  It was Abel's second double-double of the weekend and sixth of the season.  Erb added to her team-high with her 13th double-doubles of 2010.

Senior Jessica Zeroual (Ottawa, Ont./De La Salle) added eight kills and two blocks while junior Kelly Turner (Ontario, N.Y./Wayne Central) chipped in six kills and four blocks.  Freshman libero Katie Daorai (Tampa, Fla./Plant) had a match-high 25 digs.  Senior Lauren Fanelli (Moon Township, Pa./Moon Area) and sophomore Megan Wiechmann (Sunland, Calif./Village Christian) combined for 50 assists and 10 digs from the setter position.

Kelli Clear led the Seahawks with 14 kills, 13 digs and three blocks.  Emily Mohrmann added seven kills and six blocks and Christi Laite had 11 kills and seven blocks.  Haley Collins had a team-high 17 digs while Kelsey Bendig had a double-double with 36 assists and 10 digs.

JMU out-hit UNCW .174 to .142 and held an 80-68 advantage in digs.  The Seahawks held a 16-6 advantage in blocks, led by a match-high 10 block assists from Kimberly Friedl.

JMU, Northeastern, Georgia State and George Mason are all tied for third in the CAA with 8-4 records.  Virginia Commonwealth is 9-4 and holds a half-game lead for second place.  The top four teams will advance to the CAA Championships to be held Nov. 19-22 in Newark, Del.

The Dukes return to action next weekend as they host Northeastern at Sinclair Gymnasium/Godwin Hall on Friday before closing out its regular season against Hofstra on Saturday.
