HARRISONBURG, Va., Oct. 23, 2010 - Freshman libero Katie Daorai (Tampa, Fla./Plant) had a career-high 31 digs and three Dukes collected double-doubles to lead the James Madison volleyball team past George Mason 3-2 at Sinclair Gymnasium/Godwin Hall on Saturday evening.

JMU improved to 11-1 at home this season to run its record to 18-5 and 6-2 in the Colonial Athletic Association.  The Dukes are 6-0 in five-set matches.  Mason dropped to 11-9 and 6-2 in conference play.

Daorai finished with 31 digs, three assists and two service aces.  Senior Lindsay Callahan (Virginia Beach, Va./Landstown) had a match-high 16 kills and nine digs to move into ninth place on the school's all-time digs list with 921.  Junior Holly Wall (Kaukauna, Wisc./Kaukauna) collected her second double-double of the season with 15 kills and 13 digs while Danielle Erb (Tampa, Fla./Plant) collected her 12th double-double with 15 kills and 14 digs.  Senior setter Lauren Fanelli (Moon Township, Pa./Moon Area) was the third Duke with a double-double collecting 24 assists and 10 digs.

Mason was led by preseason CAA Player of the Year Holly Goode with 15 kills and 11 digs.  Lana Zonjic and Danielle Cook chipped in 13 and 10 kills, respectively.  Noelle Fanella had a team-high 18 digs and eight kills while Fernanda Bartels led all players with 39 assists and nine digs.

GMU held a 12-9 advantage in blocks and out-hit the Dukes .148 to .095.  The Dukes led in service aces 11-3 and digs 85-79.

The decisive fifth set went back and forth with neither team leading by more than two points.  The Patriots were the first to reach match point at 14-13 before a service error by Fanella evened the score.  A kill by senior Jessica Zeroual (Ottawa, Ont./De La Salle) gave the Dukes match point before a attack error by Goode ended the match.
