RICHMOND, Va., April 17, 2012 - James Madison senior Kinsey Pate (Matthews, N.C./Butler) was named Colonial Athletic Association Women's Tennis Player of the Week, as announced by the conference on Tuesday.

Pate went 3-0 at No. 1 singles last week. She rallied past Richmond's Joanna Matuszczyk, 4-6, 6-4, 6-2 to score the lone point in a 6-1 setback to the Spiders. She also rolled past George Mason's Alison Wingo, 6-0, 6-1 and Towson's Aandria Carr, 6-2, 6-1, as the Dukes posted 7-0 conference wins over the Patriots and Tigers.  Pate went 8-6 during the course of the spring as the Dukes' No. 1 singles player and was an instrumental leader, helping guide the Dukes to a No. 6 seed heading into the CAA Championships this weekend at Old Dominion.
