  • JMU will travel to Rock Hill for the first time for a road contest vs. Winthrop.
  • Last year, the Dukes defeated the Eagles 71-61 in Harrisonburg.
  • The Dukes are coming off of a lopsided defeat at Valparaiso with the Crusaders using a 36-6 run spanning the halves to take control.
  • JMU switched its starting lineup for the first time this season, featuring three freshmen and two sophomores.
  • The Dukes currently boast three of the top six rebounding freshmen in the CAA.

 Game Notes:

  • The Dukes hold a +15.5 rebounding advantage over opponents this season, which ranks seventh among Division I women’s basketball programs.  They are averaging 46.2 boards per outing, including 19.0 rebounds off the offensive glass.  This has led to 22.2 points per game coming from second-chance opportunities.
  • JMU is outscoring opponents by 20.8 points per game as eight Dukes average at least five points per game.  Senior guard Kirby Burkholder leads the charge with an average of 19.5, while sophomore guard Precious Hall is second with 13.8 points per game. 
  • Burkholder was named to the Naismith Trophy Watch List which highlights the top 50 collegiate women’s basketball players in the nation. Hall earned this week's CAA Player of the Week honor.
  • Sophomore forward Destiny Jones tied her career high in points (12) against Alcorn State.
