Harrisonburg, Va., Sept. 1, 2013 - The James Madison men's soccer team wrapped up a perfect 2-0 weekend with a 3-0 shutout win over visiting Binghamton on Sunday in the 2013 Fairfield by Marriott JMU Invitational.

The Dukes, who controlled the tempo for the entire game, held a 1-0 lead at the half thanks to a penalty kick goal by Josh Grant. The penalty kick was set up when freshman Callum Hill was knocked to the ground after receiving a pass in front of the net.

In the 57th minute, Grant struck again, scoring on another penalt kick to put JMU up 2-0. It was the third straight goal off a penalty kick for the Dukes, who won with a PK goal in double overtime over Fordham on Friday.

Binghamton had its chance to score on a penalty kick, as well, but was denied its best chance to score in the game. JMu goalie Kyle Morton chose correctly and made a diving stop to his left to preserve the shutout.

The Dukes tacked on an insurance goal in the 79th minute as sophomore Tyler Durbin scored his first career goal. Sophomore Eric Schmidt delivered a perfect cross and Durbin made it count, finishing with a header.

Morton improved to 2-0 in goal, finishing with three saves. Binghamton goaltender Stefan Frantellizzi stopped four shots.

JMU had four players named to the all-tournament team. Grant, Adam Bastidas, Daniel Roppert and Bjarki Aoalsteinsson were among the 11 players honored for their play over the weekend.

The Dukes will return to action on Saturday when they host UNC-Greensboro at 7 p.m. at University Park.
