Justin Brown, JMU baseball's honorary team member through the Friends of Jaclyn Foundation, had been looking forward to Friday, April 1 as his favorite team, the Diamond Dukes, were coming to his neighborhood to play at George Mason. However, unknown to Justin, the Dukes had a surprise visit planned at his elementary school in Gainesville.
The bus arrived at the start of the school day at 9:30 a.m. and surprised Justin and his classmates with an assembly. The Dukes talked to the students, interacted and signed autographs. At the end of the assembly, Justin, as a JMU team member, hopped on the bus with the team and headed off to Spuhler Field for the game.
Be sure to watch the attached video feature of the special day for Justin.
This Sunday, April 10, will be Justin Brown Day as JMU hosts Georgia State in a Colonial Athletic Association baseball game at noon. All kids will receive free admission in honor of Justin and will have the opportunity to run the bases after the game. Justin will throw out the first pitch.
