Getting to know Rachel ...

Why did you choose JMU?
I love the feel of the campus.  When I visited here, I felt like everyone was proud to go here, and I wanted to be a part of that community.  Also, I love the location, and the campus is beautiful.  This is how a college is supposed to be. 

What are your goals for the 2010 season?
I just plan on getting better and better every day and leaving everything on the field after every practice and game

What is your major/minor and why did you choose it?
Political Science because I have always had a passion for history and law.  After I graduate I plan on attending law school in order to one day become a lawyer. 

What are your favorite things to do off the field?
I love hanging out with my wonderful friends, running, reading books (not textbooks), riding bikes, and kayaking

What is your favorite JMU field hockey moment?
I couldn't really pick a single favorite moment, but I love being with my wonderful teammates all of the time!

What is the best class you have taken at JMU?
So far it would have to be my Political Science 201 class.  My teacher was great, and the class was always so interesting.

Where is your favorite place you have visited and where would you like to visit?
My favorite place that I have visited would have to be Avon in the Outer Banks, NC.  I would love to visit Greece one day!

What is something that most people do not know about you?
Most people don't know that I have a phobia of snakes

What do you want to do after college?
After college, I want to travel a lot and eventually attend law school

What is your most prized possession?
My cat, Ella

I can name all of the presidents in order

 What advice would you give a prospective recruit?
Work hard, and never give anything less than your best!

What do you like about Harrisonburg?
I like that Harrisonburg has a small-town feel, yet you can never get bored because there is always something to do
