  • Appeared in game two against GSU retiring both batters faced
  • Picked up his first collegiate save against George Washington where he went three innings while allowing just one run off two hits and fanning two batters
  • Pitched a scoreless 1 1/3 innings against Longwood
  • Got his second save against Delaware by going the final three innings allowing just one run off three hits
  • Pitched 1 1/3 innings of scoreless and hitless relief against UNC Wilmington in game two
  • Tossed a pair of scoreless frames at Marist to finish the game
  • Pitched 2/3 of an inning in CAA Tournament win over George Mason on Friday

Before JMU:

  • Played for Allen Swanson and the Saint Anne's Belfield Saints

Getting to Know James.

Why did you choose JMU?
Because JMU had an excellent reputation for developing pitchers.

What is your major, and why did you choose it?
Kinesiology (Sports Management) with a business minor. I chose Sports management because I want to stay involved in the game when I'm done playing.

What are your hobbies outside of baseball?
Shooting, Fishing, Tennis, basically anything outside.

Do you have a nickname on the team? How did it come about?
Wein- It started the first time someone mis-pronounced my last name.

What are your goals for the season and what motivates you to reach them?
I want to help lead the team to a successful postseason, in any way I can. Im motivated by winning, at the end of the day it's the only stat that matters.

Do you have any unique talents or skills?
I am the current JMU grilled cheese eating champion.

If you could hang out with one MLB player for a day who would it be and why?
Pedroia- Because I've heard he's the most intense baseball player in the game.
Or Wakefield- Because I've working on a knuckleball for 8 years and it needs help.

If you could be on one reality or game show what would it be?
Deal or no deal.

What is your favorite memory of JMU baseball thus far?
Winning the CAA championship freshman year.

What team do you want to beat more than any other?
Hands down UVA.

Where is your favorite place to play other then at JMU?
ODU.

What is your favorite memory at JMU outside of baseball?
Climbing up the side of my house to get in when I was locked out.

Most Fashionable- Billy Logan.
