HARRISONBURG, Va. - The James Madison cross country team re-entered the Southeast Region rankings in 12th place after two weeks outside of the top-15, according  to the weekly poll by the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association.

The Dukes were ranked seventh in the region by the USTFCCCA in the preseason polls.  They were not ranked in the regional Week Two or Week Three polls.

JMU is joined by Colonial Athletic Association foe William & Mary in the region, which holds the top spot in the southeast and ranks 17th in the nation.  Fellow CAA member Delaware holds steady at the No. 11 slot in the Mid-Atlantic Region.

Last weekend, Madison sent runners to both the Roy Griak Invitational in Minneapolis, Minn., and the George Mason Invitational in Leesburg, Va.  JMU tied for an eighth-place team-finish at the Roy Griak Invitational behind top-50 finishes by seniors Katie Harman (Clarksville, Md./River Hill), Katie Gorman (Lafayette Hill, Pa./Plymouth-Whitemarsh) and Stacey Nobles (Virginia Beach, Va./Ocean Lakes).  The race featured 211 runners from 17 teams.  No team score was awarded to the Dukes competing at the George Mason Invitational.

Madison will take this weekend off from competition before its final regular-season meets of 2012 on Oct. 13.  Runners will travel to either the Chili Pepper Invitational in Fayetteville, Ark., or the William & Mary Open in Williamsburg, Va.
