Scouting Old Dominion:
The Monarchs bring a 7-1-0 overall record, a 1-1-0 CAA record, a 13-game (12-0-1) home unbeaten streak and a Top 25 national ranking into Wednesday's game vs. JMU.  ODU was ranked 12th by Soccer America and 14th in the NSCAA coaches poll last week.
The Monarchs' last defeat at home?  By JMU, in a 2-0 Dukes' win on Oct. 27, 2010.  ODU has a 15-1-2 home record over its last 18 matches.
ODU opened league play with a 4-1 upset loss at Drexel on Sept. 22 and beat George Mason 3-2 on Sept. 28.
Senior All-America forward Yannick Smith was selected CAA preseason Co-Player of the Year along with JMU senior All-America forward Paul Wyatt.   Junior forward Tim Hopkinson leads the CAA and is ranked among the NCAA leaders in points average (2.5) and goals average (1.0).
ODU was picked by the CAA coaches to finish first in the 11-team league.  However, ODU is not eligible for the postseason CAA Tournament due to a league rule that prohibits teams who are joining another conference from competing in CAA postseason events.  ODU announced earlier this year that it was joining Conference USA, effective July 1, 2013.

The Series with Old Dominion: JMU leads the series 18-13-6 and has won the last two meetings.  However, over the past nine meetings ODU leads the series 5-3-1.
Four of the last seven meetings have gone to overtime.
