The Dukes finished third in the league standings with a 6-2-2 record. JMU has an 8-6-3 overall record that includes a 2-1 overtime win at UNCW on Oct. 10.
UNCW finished sixth in the CAA with a 4-6-0 league record. The Seahawks have a 7-10-1 overall record that includes six losses by a single goal.
JMU is unbeaten (3-0-1) in its last four home games and has a 19-1-4 record at home over the last two seasons. The Dukes' lone home defeat in that span was a 1-0 loss to then 11th-ranked Georgetown on Sept. 25.
Drexel claimed the top seed in the CAA Tournament as the Dragons finished first in the league standings with an 8-1-1 record. The Dragons topped JMU 2-0 in the final day of CAA play on Nov. 3 to clinch first place. Drexel's win over JMU put the Dragons' unbeaten streak at seven games (6-0-1).
Drexel and second-place Northeastern (6-1-3 CAA record) receive first-round byes in the CAA Tournament, and Drexel will host the semifinals and final on Nov. 9 and 11.
Monday's other first-round CAA game has fourth-seeded Hofstra (5-4-1 CAA record) hosting fifth-seeded George Mason (4-5-1) in a 7 p.m. match.
The JMU-UNCW winner faces Northeastern in a 5 p.m. match on Friday (Nov. 9) at Drexel. The Hofstra-Mason winner meets Drexel in a 7:30 p.m. game Friday. The championship match is set for 2 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 11.
