From CAA Reports

RICHMOND, Va., Oct. 29, 2012) - With Hurricane Sandy closing in on the East Coast, the Colonial Athletic Association has announced changes to its men's soccer schedule.
The final night of regular-season competition in CAA men's soccer, which was scheduled to be played on Wednesday, Oct. 31, has been postponed until Friday, Nov. 2.   JMU will travel to Drexel for its Nov. 2 regular-season finale.

Due to that postponement, the first round of the CAA Championship will now be played on Monday, Nov. 5 at the sites of the #3 and #4 seeds.

The semifinals and finals of the championship are still set to be played on Thursday and Saturday, Nov. 8 and 10, at the site of the top seed.

Entering the final round of league games, JMU is in third place in the CAA standings with 20 points.  The Dukes' next opponent, Drexel, holds first place with 22 points, and Northeastern is second with 21 points.

The top six teams in the final CAA standings qualify for the CAA Tournament.  (Old Dominion, currently in fifth place, is not eligible for the tournament.)  The number one and two seeds receive first-round byes, while the number three and four seeds host the number six and five seeds, respectively, in first-round games on Nov. 5.

Drexel (22 points), Northeastern (21), JMU (20), Hofstra (15), George Mason (13) and North Carolina Wilmington (12) have all clinched spots in the CAA Tournament.  Drexel can clinch the top seed with a win over JMU on Nov. 2.  JMU has a chance to finish first, but the Dukes must win at Drexel and Northeastern must tie or lose its Nov. 2 game at ODU.  Should the JMU-Drexel game end in a tie, Northeastern can claim the top seed with a win at ODU.  Ties in both the JMU-Drexel and Northeastern-ODU games would give Drexel the number one seed, followed by Northeastern at number two and JMU at number three.
