Of Note:  The Tribe picked up its first league victory of the season in its last game, when W&M won 2-1 at ODU on Oct. 17 to end ODU's home unbeaten streak at 14 games (12-0-2).

The Series with William and Mary:  JMU leads the series 20-18-8.  Over the last 10 meetings the Dukes lead the series 7-1-2.  The one W&M win during that span was a 2-1 victory in 2010, the last time the teams played in Harrisonburg.  Prior to that the Dukes had not lost to the Tribe since 2002.

Seniors Recognized Prior to Georgia State Game:
  JMU's senior class will be recognized prior to kick off vs. Georgia State on Oct. 28.  Dukes seniors include Rahul Chaudhry, Gene Daniels, Christian McLaughlin, Trey Messiah, Dale Robins-Bailey and Paul Wyatt.

Wyatt Nets Career Goal #25:  Senior Paul Wyatt scored his team-leading sixth goal and 25th career goal in the Dukes' 2-1 win at George Mason on Oct. 20.  He remains in 16th place on JMU's all-time goals list but is just one goal away from 15th place.

Grant Records Another Game-Winner:  Sophomore Josh Grant scored his third game-winning goal of the season on a header in the 75th minute in JMU's 2-1 victory at George Mason on Oct. 20. 
     He is the only JMU player with multiple game-winning goals.  Grant ranks second on the team with five goals this season. 

Another Close One:  JMU's Oct. 20 2-1 win at George Mason marked the eighth time in 14 games that a Dukes match has been decided by a single goal.  JMU has a 4-4 record in one-goal games and is 4-2 in its last six one-goal games.

Dukes Alum Plays for Jamaica in World Cup Qualifier:  Former JMU player Joel Senior played more than a third of the game in Jamaica's 4-1 win over Antigua and Barbuda on Oct. 16 in Kingston.
     He entered the World Cup qualifying match in the 58th minute at National Stadium.
     With the win Jamaica joined the United States, Panama, Honduras, Costa Rica and Mexico in advancing to the fourth and final round of CONCACAF qualifying.
     Senior was a two-year starter for the Dukes in the 2008 and 2009 seasons. He earned All-CAA Third Team honors in 2009.

Six Opponents Projected for NCAA Field:  Six of the Dukes' opponents are projected to be among the 48 teams in the 2012 NCAA Tournament field, according to the website TopDrawerSoccer.com.  The weekly rankings are a running attempt to project the postseason NCAA Tournament qualifiers, including every automatic conference berth. The Week 10 rankings were released Oct. 22.
     The list includes:

Martin Is Winningest Active Coach:  Dukes' head coach Tom Martin is the winningest active coach in NCAA Division I soccer.  In his 36th career season, he has a career record of 459-179-63.  His record in 27 JMU seasons is 340-144-53.
