RADFORD, Va., Aug. 18, 2012 -- The James Madison men's soccer team shut out Radford 2-0 in a preseason exhibition game Saturday night.
First-year JMU player Josh Grant (Plymouth, England/Torpoint College) scored the team's first goal midway through the first half, with the assist on the score going to redshirt senior Christian McLaughlin (Herndon, Va./Herndon).
Freshman Tom Fouhy (Buckinghamshire, England/Dr. Challoner's) netted the second goal off a cross from Grant following a JMU corner kick.
JMU's first home match will be in the Fairfield Inn by Marriott Invitational Tournament, scheduled for Aug. 31 and Sept. 2, at University Park. The Dukes host St. Bonaventure at 7:30 p.m. on Aug. 31 and play Temple at 2:30 p.m. on Sept. 2.
