Former Men's Soccer's Senior Honored for Play

HARRISONBURG, Va., Feb. 23, 2012 -- Former James Madison men's soccer player Joel Senior was chosen "Man of the Match" for his play for the Jamaica National Team in Wednesday night's "friendly" against Cuba.

The Jamaican team won the match 1-0 and will play again Feb. 24 against Cuba at the Montego Bay Sports Complex at 7:30 p.m. Following Friday's match, the team will travel to New Zealand for a game in Auckland on Feb. 29.

Senior, a native of Jamaica, played for the Dukes in the 2008 and 2009 seasons as a midfielder. He earned All-Colonial Athletic Association Third Team honors in 2009 and was a two-year starter.

In 2007 he played for Jamaica's Under-20 team in the finals of the CONCACAF Under-20 Tournament.
