Last Week:
JMU continued its home unbeaten streak (4-0-0) as the Dukes opened CAA play with a 3-0 win over Towson on Sept. 24.

Did You Know?  Five CAA schools have been ranked or have received votes in the national polls this season.  Three are currently recognized in at least one poll -- George Mason #18 and Old Dominion #20 by Soccer America and William and Mary receiving votes in the NSCAA coaches poll.

Scouting West Virginia:  The nationally 25th-ranked (Soccer America) Mountaineers have a 4-3-1 record that includes a 2-1 loss to No. 18 South Florida in their last outing on Sept. 25.  That loss ended a 13-game WVU home winning streak.  WVU's other two defeats were to top 10 teams -- No. 2 Maryland and No. 7 California-Santa Barbara.
     WVU was picked by league coaches to finish third in the eight-team Blue Division of the 16-team Big East Conference. 

The Series vs. West Virginia:  JMU leads the series 4-2, but all but one of those games was played prior to 1999.  The teams did meet last season at WVU, where Mountaineers won 1-0.

Scouting Northeastern:  The Huskies opened CAA play with a 2-1 home win over Virginia Commonwealth on Sept. 24 and have a 5-1-1 overall record.  Northeastern takes a three-game winning streak into a Sept. 27 match at Holy Cross.
     Northeastern was picked by the CAA coaches to finish sixth in the 12-team league.

The Series with Northeastern: JMU leads the series 4-2-2 but has not beaten the Huskies since a 2007 3-2 victory in Harrisonburg.  Over the last five meetings the Huskies lead the series 2-1-2.  The last two games between the teams have ended in ties.

Unbeaten at Home:
 JMU plays its next three games at home, where the Dukes are unbeaten (4-0-0).  The Dukes' only loss this season was on the road at fourth-ranked (Soccer America) and formerly top-ranked North Carolina.

     Other JMU opponents ranked in region polls include North Carolina (#1 in South) and West Virginia (tied #5 in Northeast).
