JMU continues a stretch of five consecutive home games as the Dukes open
CAA play with a Sept. 24 match against Towson
(7 p.m.). Live
JMU stayed unbeaten at home (3-0-0) with a 1-0
victory over Lafayette on Sept.
Did You Know? Junior defender Dale
Robins-Bailey is the team leader in assists with three. All three have come on headers (two on Sept.
4 vs. UNCA, one on Sept. 17 vs. Lafayette).
Robins-Bailey also scored his first JMU goal -- a game-winner -- on a
header Sept. 2 vs. Florida Atlantic.
Scouting Towson: Towson has a 1-3-1 record after picking up
its first win of the season with a 4-1 victory over Albany on Sept. 20. The Tigers had dropped two one-goal games on
the road and a 2-0 game at Top 25 team New Mexico.
Towson was picked by league coaches
to finish 10th in the 12-team CAA.
The Series with Towson: JMU leads the series with Towson 13-10-1. In the 11 meetings since Towson joined the
CAA in 2002, only once has a team has won consecutive games. That happened the last two seasons, when JMU
claimed a 3-2 overtime victory at Towson in 2010 after winning 5-2 JMU in
Harrisonburg in 2009.
Four of the last five meetings were one-goal

Sapong 15th on MLS List of Top 24 Under 24: Former
Duke CJ Sapong (2007-10), a starter
on Sporting Kansas City of the MLS, has been ranked 15th on "24 Under
24," a list of the top MLS players under 24 years of age
Quoting the article on MLSSoccer.com,
"Many fans raised an eyebrow when Sporting Kansas City used their No. 10
overall pick in the SuperDraft on a little-known forward from James Madison
University. Turns out CJ Sapong may have
been the find of the draft and a surefire candidate for the Rookie of the Year
award. His strength and athleticism have made him an absolute handful for
opposing teams and his uncanny calm has allowed him to be fairly consistent for
a first-year pro. With a few more goals, it won't be long before the cries for
a national team call-up start coming his way."
