JMU dropped home conference games to Virginia Commonwealth (3-2 on Nov. 3) and Hofstra (2-0 on Nov. 6).
CAA Standings: William and Mary (8-1-2) finished the regular-season in first place in the CAA standings.
Virginia Commonwealth (5-2-4) finished second and Hofstra (5-3-3) third. Delaware (5-4-2) and Old Dominion (5-4-2) tied for fourth.
JMU (4-6-1) tied for eighth with Georgia State.
As the top seed William and Mary will host the CAA tournament on Nov. 12 and 14. VCU, Hofstra and Delaware will join W&M in the four-team tournament.
Shooting Advantage: JMU outshot its opponents by almost a 2:1 margin (365-195) this season.
Only twice did a JMU opponent take more shots than the Dukes: West Virginia (15-10 in a 1-0 WVU win) and Delaware (23-21 in a 4-2 JMU win).
Dukes in the National Stats: Senior CJ Sapong continues to rank among the NCAA Division I scoring leaders in the latest NCAA National Statistics (games through Nov. 7).
He is tied for third in total points (33), sixth in points per game (1.83), tied eighth in total goals (12), tied ninth in total assists (9), tied 14th in goals per game (0.67), and tied 15th in assists per game (0.5).
As a team JMU ranks 21st nationally in total goals (34) and 31st in goals average (1.89).
JMU in the CAA Stats: In the latest CAA Statistics (games through Nov. 7), CJ Sapong leads the league in assists (9), assist average (0.50), points (33) and points average (1.83). He is tied for first in total goals (12) and is second in goals average (0.67) and second in game-winning goals (4).
National Rankings: Three JMU opponents (Virginia, William and Mary, West Virginia) are ranked or are receiving votes in the latest national polls (NSCAA, Soccer America, College Soccer News).

In the Region: Eight CAA members, including JMU, are ranked or receiving votes in the Nov. 8 South Atlantic Region Top 10 (NSCAA). Ranked are William and Mary (#2), Old Dominion (#5), Virginia Commonwealth (#7), North Carolina Wilmington (#8), JMU (#9) and Hofstra (#10). George Mason and Towson are receiving votes.
Other JMU opponents ranked in region polls include Virginia (#3 in South Atlantic) and West Virginia (tied #8 in Northeast).
On the Season Lists: CJ Sapong's season total of 12 goals is tied for the fourth-highest total in school history. The school record is 15, two players have scored 14, three have scored 13 and six have scored 12.

On the Career Lists: CJ Sapong finished his career with 37 goals (seventh place on JMU all-time list), 21 assists (tied 12th) and 94 points (fifth).
Sapong's 12 game-winning scores ranks fourth-best all-time at JMU.
