This Season:  9-7-3 overall, 6-3-2 (third place) in Colonial Athletic Association; CAA Tournament semifinalist

The Dukes lost 5-0 to eventual tournament champion Northeastern on Nov. 9 in the CAA semifinals hosted by Drexel.

Four Dukes Honored by CAA:
 Four Dukes received All-CAA postseason honors. Senior midfielder Paul Wyatt and freshman defender Bjarki Aðalsteinsson were named to the All-CAA First Team, and redshirt senior midfielder Christian McLaughlin was voted to the All-CAA Third Team.
     Aðalsteinsson and sophomore forward Josh Grant both earned CAA All-Rookie Team recognition.
     Wyatt and Aðalsteinsson were also selected to the CAA All-Tournament Team.
     Wyatt is only the third player in JMU men's soccer history to win All-CAA honors four times.  He joined Kevin Knight (1995-98), and CJ Sapong (2007-2010) in that elite group.  Wyatt was also a first-team honoree in 2011, was named to the second team in 2010 and was a third-team selection in 2009.
     Aðalsteinsson is only the second JMU men's soccer player to earn All-CAA first-team recognition as a freshman, joining Sapong, a first-team honoree in 2007.
     McLaughlin earned All-CAA recognition for the second straight year after being selected to the All-CAA Third Team in 2011.
    Grant led the Dukes in game-winning goals with four this season.
    The All-CAA Teams were selected in voting by the league's head coaches.

Five Opponents in NCAA Field:  Five of the Dukes' 2012 opponents are among the 48 teams in the 2012 NCAA Tournament field.  First-round games are scheduled for Nov. 15, and second-round games will be played Nov. 18.
     JMU had a 1-4-1 record in 2012 against teams in the NCAA Tournament.

Martin Is Winningest Active Coach:  Dukes' head coach Tom Martin is the winningest active coach in NCAA Division I soccer.  In his 36th career season, he has a career record of 462-181-63.  His record in 27 JMU seasons is 343-145-53.

In the Region:  Six CAA members, including JMU, are ranked or receiving votes in the Nov. 13 South Atlantic Region Top 10 (NSCAA).  Ranked are Old Dominion (#4), Northeastern (#5), Drexel (#6), Hofstra (#8), JMU (#10) and George Mason (votes).
     Other JMU opponents ranked in region polls include North Carolina (#1 in South), Georgetown (#1 in Northeast) and Loyola (#2 in North Atlantic).
