NORFOLK, Va., Oct. 4, 2012 -- Behind a career-high nine saves by redshirt junior goalkeeper Colin Newcity (Harrisonburg, Va./Harrisonburg), the James Madison men's soccer team battled nationally-ranked Old Dominion to a scoreless overtime tie Wednesday evening.

ODU entered the game ranked 12th by Soccer America and 11th in the NSCAA coaches poll.

JMU improved its record to 4-4-2 overall and 2-0-1 in Colonial Athletic Association play.  The Dukes are one of only two CAA teams without a loss in league action.  Northeastern, which will host JMU on Saturday, has a 1-0-1 league record.

ODU's record now stands at 7-1-1 overall and 1-1-1 in the CAA.  The Monarchs extended their home unbeaten streak to 14 games (12-0-2).

ODU came into the match averaging just over three goals per game and ranked fifth in NCAA Division I in total goals this season.  The Monarchs were shut out for the first time this year.

Newcity's saves included a stop with 18 seconds left in the second overtime on a shot by Tim Hopkinson.  Hopkinson leads the CAA and ranks third in the NCAA in scoring.

ODU held a 22-12 advantage on shots for the game, but JMU out-shot the Monarchs 4-0 in the first 10-minute overtime and 6-2 over both overtime periods.
