The James Madison University Women's Golf team hosted the JMU/Eagle Landing Invitational for the sixth consecutive year, March 14-16, 2014 at Eagle Landing Golf Club in Orange Park, Fla., just outside of Jacksonville. The tournament, which has grown in numbers each year, increased its field to 17 teams encompassing most of the Southeast.
The 2014 field includes JMU, Daytona State, Delaware, Elon, Florida Gulf Coast, Georgetown, Georgia State, Morehead State, North Florida, Old Dominion, Richmond, Samford, Southern Illinois, Stetson, UNCG, Western Carolina and Wofford. Plans are currently being made to host the tournament for a seventh consecutive year at roughly the same time in 2015.
JMU has hosted its tournament at Eagle Landing Golf Club in Orange Park, Fla., since 2009, all five years of the tournament's existence. The course will be a open links-style Clyde Johnston design that weaves through the Florida landscape as well as the exquisitely-maintained Oakleaf Planation community.
Also on-site is an 8,000 square-foot clubhouse, featuring a fully-stocked pro shop, full service restaurant and sports bar. The patio offers a spectacular view of both the ninth and 18th holes, as well as the lake at the center of the facility.
